This is a scenic hike above the Zurich Lake. With views of the Glarner Alps and on days with perfect views even as far as the Schwarzwald.
To get to the Albispass you have to take a Bus from Thalwil. The Hike is well-marked you can look for the Sticker with the Nr. 47 or for the destination Felsenegg. Once you passed the residential area you enter the woods and there you get the occasional beautiful view down the valley.
In my opinion the most taxing section is the stairs up to Uto Kulm. I am not sure if the main reason was that I hiked Oberbleglisee the day before and up until then I didn’t “feel” my legs but that section, but yeah I was happy when we arrived.
Usually once there you climb up the stairs of the tower to get even better views, but I skipped them for this hike.
The last section was to hike down to Triemli, the Uetliberg has a lot of options and some of the trails are mountain biking trails, so look for the signs and don’t take a wrong turn.
If you want to shorten this Hike, some options are that you start at Felsenegg and hike up to Uto Kulm. Take the train from Uto Kulm and skip the downhill section. Also there are enough options to stop and have lunch, a beer on the way.
