This is a beautiful hike with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and the valley below.
This isn’t an easy hike, you have to ascent 1200m in 5km. Once you made that climb you get rewarded with an alpine setting that is just amazing, for me this kind of hikes are the best.
You start at the train station in Schwanden, from there follow the signs for the Oberbeglisee. Once you’re left the town you hike along the Guppenrus creek. You will most likely pass some cows on you way up. Once you managed the ascent you pass the Guppenalp-Oberstaffel where there is an option to stay the night. When you pass the Guppenselli you will have the last steep section of this hike, be careful not to slip as water runs down from the snow melt. At some point on that section you have to cross the creek, on my hike it was sown covered. I couldn’t see if there is a plank to cross it safely, let’s just say I was lucky, that when I fell through the snow, nothing happened thankfully.
Once you reached the pass you get a fantastic view of the Oberblegisee and the surrounding mountains. With a great view of the First mountain. When you have time take a break at the lake and go for a swim.
At the Bösbächlialp you can stay for a drink or stay the night. Once you cross the creek Bösbächlibach enjoy the last section of this hike to you destination Braunwald. You get rewarded with views of the surrounding mountains and the mountain meadows.
