Last Month after a really long rain spell, I needed some sunshine. The forecast said that in the south of the alps would be my best bet.
The Travel time from Zürich to the start point is a bit tedious. For the future I might go and to a weekend trip and stay at one of the SAC huts in the area.
In St. Moritz I got lost on my way from the train station to the mountain railway, in the end I reached my starting point after asking some local construction workers.
On your way up Piz Nair you see the starting point for the alpine ski world cup held in St. Moritz every year.
From Piz Nair you make your way down on the other side to the first lake Lej da la Pesch, from there you get your first view of the second lake Lej Survetta.
The first part of the descent to the Lej Survetta, is a bit hard as it tests you leg muscles, but once at the lake you get rewarded with fantastic views of the peaks around.
Part two of the hike to the valley Val Bever, is comfortable. On occasion it can get wet when you have to cross the stream that follows you all the way to you finish point at the train station in Spinas.
It is a beautiful hike that gives you both the option to ascent or descent, depending on your fitness level, and if you are not pressed for time by a train schedule like me then you can even take you time and stop one of the restaurants on the way.
