Finally last sunday I managed to climb the Kronberg summit.
My hike started in Jakobsbad and you will walk next to the tracks of the Cross-Country Skiing until you reach Gonten. just before Gonten you reach a junction where you can choose in which direction you want to continue. Turn right at the junction and the next few kilometers you will walk on a road that goes through a nice forest. When you reach the Skilift station you will walk on nice hiking path and if the weather is nice I am sure the view is fantastic when the weather plays nice.
A part of the path is shared with the ones for sledging that runs from the Kronberg summit to Jakobsbad, but it will split again after a few kilometers.
So I would do this hike again and I probably will because I didn’t see any of the views. But I will most likely go in the warmer month when there isn’t snow and the days are longer so you can try and hike different routes.
In winter if you want to hike uphill bring snowshoes. I didn’t and I quite regretted it, I had some sore muscles the next day. The path was prepared and all but I still ended up ankle deep in snow most of the time and some passages are quite steep and really it’s just easier with snowshoes.
You can go up Kronberg with the ropeway and hike down to Gonten or Jakobsbad. If you do, just look out for the ones on a sledge.
