Via Alpina Nr. 1 Part 01

Today I hiked for the first time this month. I was looking for a Hike that wasn’t to long or difficult, just kind of a warm up to get into things again.
Anyway so todays hike was kind of a warm up.
The Via Alpina Nr. 1 (Swiss National Route) goes from Vaduz (Lichtenstein) to Montreux (Switzerland). The first 15 sections are part of the Via Alpina green Trail (Vaduz – Lenk).
Today we did the first section in Switzerland from Sargans to Weisstannen.
Distance is just under 13km and the only hard part is the ascent at the beginning, but if you mastered that is a really pleasant Hike to Weisstannen. With nice view into the Vally and the Mountains surrounding it.
So I will try to do the Via Alpina this summer, I’m not sure how that will go especially that I have to do it in day hikes of weekend trips. See how the Logistic with the public transport will work out.
There is a direct train from Zurich HB to Sargans it takes just about 1 hour.
And from Weisstannen there is a bus that goes to Sargans for time and details go to sbb.ch or look directly at the company site here.
